A beginners class or for those wanting to explore the foundations of yoga poses (asana). The class is designed to introduce basics, adaptations, build strength, balance and flexibility. We will focus on the foundations of yoga, breakdown of postures and basic breathing techniques.
The more quiet classes focus more on stillness and less movement. By stilling the body, the mind settles and we are able to attune to our internal landscape and tap into our inner awareness. In all styles of serenity, the body is supported (with bolsters, cushions, blankets) to find the best path towards physical relaxation and to help the mind reach a meditative state.
[Serenity styles- yin, restorative, meditation, nidra, pranayama]
The more vital classes involve physical activity and movement of energy awereness to achieve union of the body, mind, breath and emotional body. Rythmic movement stimulates the internal fire (agni), in yoga philosophy this fire is the path towards transformation, to shift the stagnant energies in our physical, energetic and pranic (breath) bodies in order to feel better physically, mentally and energetically. Because yoga is about balance within movement there is always and element of meditation, time to be still, calm and to ground ourselves.
[Vitality styles- Vinyasa, Kundalini, Pranayama, Hatha]
